Dear Tim
I know you have asked me a couple of times to write to you and I have been tardy in the extreme but in the hope that later is better than never, here I am.
I was prompted to do so by having resurrected the Alvis from its winter torpor to find that it sprang to life with alacrity and performed as though it had only been put away half an hour beforehand. This must bear witness to the fine job you, Guy and the other members of your firm did during its considerable resuscitation which was finished about a year ago. Everything you did appears to have been undertaken with care and thoroughness and I'm confident that the car will perform for many years now with only routine maintenance being required. You approached all the challenges which the work on the car presented with cheerfulness, imagination and integrity and the pleasure I derive from it is a credit to you.
