Having any work carried out these days is a mixed blessing - the improvements are keenly anticipated but the limited factor is the price! This is true for work on our houses, boats, gardens, cars and indeed ourselves! We have all felt the jolt caused by an unexpected bill over breakfast. Vintage cars are predominantly about leisure time, be it road rallies, circuit racing, sprinting, family picnics or Sunday drives the intention is to be able to get away from the worries of the normal 9-5 and relax. The repair and restoration of old cars is, by its nature, labour intensive and the parts are often dear. We believe it is easier to be blunt at the start of any project and will always give you a written estimate. If this is too dear then it's better to find out before any commitment is made rather than after several months of work! We have been restoring and repairing cars for over 20 years and base our estimates upon the averages of previous projects of a similar nature. We will also explain to you hidden things that can put the price up eg cracked engine components and their additional costs. We can also work to monthly budgets which you set, so work can be spread out over a timescale that suits you. Work can be mothballed if you have a change in circumstance whilst the car is being restored. We invoice monthly - you receive a 'verbatim' log from the daily work journal of the engineer working on your car. All parts, services and subcontract details are also itemised. We take photographs of your car during all phases of the work and present you with an album at the end of the job. Once you have your car back we will call you regularly to make sure that you are happy with the workmanship - we appreciate that you, the customer, are our best advert out there at rallies, meetings, club nights etc. Therefore It is essential that you are happy with us! |
